Our talented John B. Alexander High School Outdoor Performance Ensemble and Dazzler Elite Dance Company showcased an unforgettable performance at the 2025 UIL State Marching Band Contest in San Antonio, Texas, marking a historic moment in our program's legacy. With their competitive field production, "Beyond the Break," they captured the audience's attention through a captivating blend of rhythmic precision, vibrant musicality, and stunning artistry. Their dedication and hard work culminated in a performance that epitomized excellence in every aspect. Congratulations to the entire band on an extraordinary season filled with passion and achievement!

We are proud to share the outstanding accomplishments of your Area Band instrumental musicians following the 2026 Area Band Auditions held at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi on Saturday, January 10, 2026.

In July 2025, the Texas Music Educators Association released three selections to be prepared and performed by student musicians across Texas for their respective District, Region, and Area auditions. We are proud to share that 25 musicians from John B. Alexander High School showcased their talent, professionalism, and character during the competition process this past weekend.

Of these musicians, the following students earned the prestigious distinction of All-State Musician:

  • Senior – Bruno Diaz Lopez 
  • Senior - Alina Zhou 

Their commitment to excellence, persistence in refining their craft, and unwavering focus throughout this multi-month process—beginning in November—made this remarkable achievement possible. To provide context for the magnitude of this accomplishment:

In November, more than 70,000 student musicians across the State of Texas began the All-State audition process at the District level. Only those advancing through Region and Area auditions are eligible to earn All-State status. These students are among fewer than 2.6% statewide who ultimately achieved this honor.

Please join us in congratulating them and wishing them continued success as they travel to San Antonio, Texas, from February 11 to 14, 2026, to perform in one of the Texas All-State Ensembles alongside the finest high school musicians in the state.
