Students will be enrolled in an eighteen-week course that is a hands-on and virtual experience in selected health care fields. Students will identify various members of the healthcare team. They will be able to identify the standard practice in a variety of clinical settings. In addition, they will be able to demonstrate appropriate professional attire and behavior in the clinical environment, as well as the use of communication, observational, and technical skills. Students will also be able to demonstrate the ability to perform skills associated with clinical medical assisting,  interact with other healthcare professionals, to perform as a beginning member of the health care team in the clinical setting, and to apply principles of basic First Aid, safety and vital signs in a simulated clinical area. Students will have completed certification training for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. Finally, students who have successfully completed this course will have enhanced their marketability and career awareness and will have a solid foundation upon which they can build their educational pursuits.
