Alexander boys' soccer beats Cibolo Steele in penalty shootout

The Alexander Bulldogs boys soccer team earned the bi-district championship Friday night in dramatic fashion, defeating Cibolo Steele in a penalty shootout.

Heading into halftime, the Bulldogs led 2-1, but the Knights rallied to force the game into penalties. Alexander goalkeeper Fernando Almanza emerged as the hero, making two critical saves during the shootout to secure the victory.

With the win, the Bulldogs are officially bi-district champions. The team now waits to learn its next opponent for the area championship as they continue their playoff journey.
