AHS Robotics - UIL & FIRST Tech Challenge State Championships

Posted Date: 03/25/2024

Good Morning Bulldog Nation,

The John B. Alexander Robotics Club's never ending season has come to a close! Students have been working hard for the last 7 months ; competing in 2 different competitive robotics tournaments, advancing to 3 different state championships, and collecting several accolades along the way . All this success was not achievable without the sacrifices these students had to make; including, working in the portables until 7:30 PM almost daily, meeting on some holidays and weekends, and even pulling all-nighters to make sure they still got their classwork done. I am very lucky to call myself their coach.

Speaking of, we did come back with one award, and that is the Compass Award.

The Compass Award recognizes an adult coach or mentor who has given outstanding guidance and support to a team throughout the year and demonstrates to the team what it means to be a Gracious Professional.

We also won it at the Area Championship Tournament, but now to be recognized as the Coach of the Year for the State of Texas is testament that I am at the helm of one of the greatest Robotics programs in the state.

It has been a great season, I thank you all for your continued support of my team. We are looking forward to continuing our tradition of success next year.
